Getting New Partners Involved

When new partners join our church, we ask they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior and be baptized, if they haven't already. We also ask if their hands work because we want them to get invovled in our church, doing the work of God's Kingdom and to grow with us. In order to work in the church and get involved, all new partners must attend our New Partner Orientation (every 2nd Sunday at 9:20am on Zoom). Below are our processes of how a new partner gets involved in our ministries after attending the Orientation:

Chosen Generation (Destiny Kids, J.A.M. & Teen Alive) + Praise Dance (Children, Teens & Adults) + Support Teams (Finance, Admin, Clergy, Diaconate, Member Services/Compassionate Care, Pastor's Aide, Armor Bearer & Historical)

Process:

• In-person interviews must take place with Bishop, Pastor Powell and the ministry leader (Call the church admin office to set up the interview so it can be approved)
• Background checks will be conducted on all new partners
• Confidentiality form must be signed by new partners
• Welcome letter must be sent to new partners (This letter should also include the details of what your ministry is, what you do, and why the ministry exist. Before sending them the welcome letter, please send the letter to admin for approval)
• Orientation (in person or on Zoom) set up with the new partner & ministry leader about how the ministry operates

Reminaing 6-Core Ministries (MMOV, KWOV, Singles, Marriage, & Young Adult) + Security + Adult Sunday School

Process:

• Interview set up with ministry leader (in-person or Zoom; call the church admin office to set  up the interview so it can be approved)  to discuss the following:
  • Mission statement/goal of particular ministry
  • The partner's background in particular ministry
  • The partner's strengths and weaknesses
• Meeting set up (in-person or Zoom; call the church admin office to set it up so it can be approved) to discuss next steps in getting them involved

Hospitality 

Process:

• Send them a welcome letter welcoming them to the ministry (This letter should also include the details of what your ministry is, what you do, and why the ministry exist. Before sending them the welcome letter, please send the letter to admin for approval)
• Assign them to a team
• The assigned team comes together on Zoom to introduce new partners to the team, discuss the next assignment and assign the positions/roles in the next assignments (The team captain must call the church admin office to get a Zoom meeting with their team scheduled on the calendar)

Audio/Visual

Process:

• Send them a welcome letter welcoming them to the ministry (This letter should also include the details of what your ministry is, what you do, and why the ministry exist. Before sending them the welcome letter, please send the letter to admin for approval)
• Screening (on Zoom; call the church admin office to set it up so it can be approved) of where they see themselves in the ministry (Facebook Live, cameras, sound board, etc.)
• Training in all areas (sign off by new partners & ministry leader after each area trained)

Usher + Greeter

Process:

• Send them a welcome letter welcoming them to the ministry (This letter should also include the details of what your ministry is, what you do, and why the ministry exist. Before sending them the welcome letter, please send the letter to admin for approval)
• Assign them to a team
• Invite them to attend the next usher training (call the church admin office to schedule the training so it can be approved on the calendar)

Praise Team + Choir

Process:

• Interview with Minister of Music (over the phone or on Zoom; if on Zoom, call the church admin office to set up the Zoom) to discuss and explain the following expectations:
  • Timeliness
  • Vocal Ability
  • Malleability
  • Attitude
  • Godly Lifestyle
  • Support of the Church Vision
  • Rehearsals
• Invite them to attend the next praise team/choir rehearsal

1st Responders

Process:

Process:

• Send them a welcome letter welcoming them to the ministry (This letter should also include the details of what your ministry is, what you do, and why the ministry exist. Before sending them the welcome letter, please send the letter to admin for approval)
• Assign them to a team
• Invite them to attend the next team assignment
